Quick Actions
Tips & Advice
- Book tickets well in advance, as these popular holiday rides often sell out weeks ahead of time.
- Dress warmly, even with the vinyl windows installed in open-air cars during winter, as temperatures can still be chilly.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure for the Holiday Express to allow ample time for parking, ticket pickup, and boarding.
- Consider the Premier Class for an enhanced experience, including reclining seats, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and a catered snack, though it is for ages 18+.
- While outside snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted, remember that alcohol is not allowed on the train itself, but can be purchased during layovers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to make reservations?
Reservations are highly recommended as rides frequently sell out, especially during peak seasons. Booking in advance is advised to ensure availability.
What is the difference between open-air and closed coaches?
Open-air coaches have bench seating facing outward with large windows, offering a closer connection to nature. Closed coaches are enclosed with climate control and seats arranged in groups of four.
What happens if I miss my ride?
If you miss your train, you may be issued a missed trip pass, redeemable within the same calendar year for an equivalent ride, potentially with a fee for rescheduling or upgrades.
Are pets allowed on the train?
No pets are allowed on the train, with the exception of certified service animals as defined by the ADA.
What is the climate like in the open-air cars during winter?
Vinyl windows are installed in open-air cars during winter to retain heat from body warmth, but it is still recommended to dress warmly as it can get chilly.
