Parking

Parking is available in Ceres Byen, directly opposite Den Gamle By, in an underground parking facility. Special 'Den Gamle By tickets' offer 6 or 8 hours of parking from 90 DKK. Parking time starts upon arrival. Aarhus Municipality has implemented paid parking in the area around Den Gamle By. You must register your license plate via app or parking meter. Den Gamle By is in a yellow parking zone, meaning paid parking on weekdays and Saturdays, and free parking on Sundays and public holidays. For app payment, the area number/zone is 8200. Hourly rates: Weekdays 8 AM-7 PM: 23 DKK; Weekdays 7 PM-11 PM: 10 DKK; Saturdays 8 AM-4 PM: 23 DKK; Saturdays 4 PM-11 PM: 10 DKK; Sundays and public holidays: Free. Parking meters are located near Den Gamle By, with the closest on Eugen Warmings Vej. Other nearby meters are on Herningvej, Poppelpladsen (The Greenhouses), and Eugen Warmings Vej/Ringvejen. Bus parking and drop-off/pick-up are available on Viborgvej, but stopping is not permitted. At Prismet, on the corner of Silkeborgvej and Viborgvej, there are 3 bus parking spaces. Bus parking is also possible at Dollerupvej (near Aarhus Tech), about a 10-minute walk from Den Gamle By. Accessible parking: Two public accessible parking spots are located on Mønsgade near the Main Entrance. Additional public parking is available along Viborgvej. No registration is needed for accessible parking; it's free with a visible disability permit in the windshield, applicable to all Aarhus Municipality parking spaces, including non-reserved ones. Camper parking is available at Poppelpladsen (the circular parking lot at The Greenhouses). For overnight stays, parking is possible at Marselisborg Harbor.
